Just like dining, there are plenty of options when it comes to grabbing a drink onboard Oasis of the Seas. Standard Oasis of the Seas staterooms have two twin beds that convert to a queen, small sitting areas and interactive flat-screen TVs. Outlets are U.S.-style, situated under the vanities (not particularly close to the beds). Even interior cabins have enough shelves and hanger space, although in some cabins it's a tight squeeze between the bed and the closet. Each of the ship’s neighborhoods has its own vibe and activities, and most passengers will be hard pressed to feel like they’ve done it all after a week-long sailing. The Oasis of the Seas Boardwalk is family central and boasts two rock climbing walls, a carousel, the AquaTheater, the Ultimate Abyss dry slide and the impressive Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade. Despite its size and passenger capacity, Oasis of the Seas deck plans are well laid out and easy to navigate.
There’s also The Perfect Storm trio of waterslides, including Typhoon, Cyclone and Supercell. There are currently four Oasis-class ships in Royal Caribbean’s fleet. Oasis of the Seas was the first Oasis-class ship, delivered in 2009 and at the time breaking records for passenger capacity.
AquaTheater suites provide views of the AquaTheater and Boardwalk. Oasis of the Seas Central Park has a mellower vibe, with outdoor pathways lined with plants, sculptures, and low lights that at give the space a romantic, relaxing atmosphere at night. Add in the sheer amount of shows (Cats is one of the biggest attractions on Oasis of the Seas), restaurants and bars, and you'll see that it's impossible to be bored on this ship.
Over its lifetime, Oasis of the Seas has crisscrossed the globe. Today, though, you can find this ship offering both European and Caribbean cruises. European cruises depart from Rome or Barcelona, and travel throughout the Mediterranean over the course of a week (shorter, three-night cruises visit Spain, France and Italy). Caribbean cruises depart from Fort Lauderdale and Miami, and take place over as few as two nights, but up to over a week, with stops all throughout the region. New shopping options were also added, as well as new, private VIP areas for suite guests. The refurbishments also included the addition of 44 new staterooms and suites.
Getting Around is Surprisingly EasyOn a ship the size of Oasis of the Seas, you might think that getting around would be difficult. While it can take some walking, actually navigating the ship is surprisingly easy. It’s well laid out where just about every deck offers a clear path from one end of the ship to the other. There aren’t a lot of obstacles or dead ends that mean you have to move up a deck or two to continue on your way.
Through 2020 summer, Oasis had planned 7-day Florida-Bahamas itineraries visiting Port Canaveral, Nassau, and CocoCay Island. For August 1 (2020) was scheduled a special 8-day itinerary also visiting Miami. There are two "secret balconies" positioned close to the aft elevators on Deck 9. Both balconies are small (each is furnished with a table and two chairs), overlook Central Park and are some of the best points to view the entire neighborhood. The Perfect Storm is a 3-deck high waterslide complex (deck 18 entry, down to deck 15 exit /Beach Pool) which consists of the spiraling race-slides “Cyclone”, “Typhoon” and “Supercell”.
